What are cell phone antennas, inline boosters and wireless repeaters?

Signal Experts offers a wide variety of products to enhance your cellular signal. The products we offer fall into two primary categories: cell phone antennas and cell phone amplifiers.

Cell phone antennas are the simplest solution and involve mounting a cell phone antenna (typically on your vehicle or at your home) and connecting the antenna to your cell phone or data card using a cell phone adapter cable. This solution supports a single device at any given time but is the least expensive. In cases where you need even more signal enhancement, an inline booster can be added between the antenna and cell phone adapter cable.

Cell phone amplifiers come in two flavors: inline boosters and wireless repeaters.

• Inline Boosters: An inline booster is similar to a simple cell phone antenna setup except that the inline booster is added between the cell phone antenna and cell phone adapter cable. An inline booster provides the FCC maximum allowed power - 3 watts on the 800/850MHz band, 2W on the 1900MHz band - i.e. bag phone power. Like a simple cell phone antenna setup, an inline amplifier setup supports a single cell phone or data card. Choose an inline booster setup if you need maximum reception.
• Wireless Repeaters: A wireless repeater takes the signal from the cell tower, amplifies it, and retransmits it to your cell phone. Likewise, it takes your cell phone signal, amplifies it, and retransmits it back to the tower. The benefit of a wireless repeater is that it makes no physical connection to your phone. As long as you have a usable cell signal outside of your location, a wireless repeater can be used to bring cellular and/or PCS service into your home or business.
